Biography:
A native of Los Angeles, Pallas van der Kroft-Sluyter has had an extensive and varied career touring the world as a professional dancer, choreographer and teacher. She began training in ballet at age four and at age eleven was awarded the prestigious Ford Foundation scholarship from the New York City Ballet. Additionally she trained on scholarships from the American Ballet Theatre, San Francisco Ballet, Ballet West and Dupre Dance Academy. Performing credits include Dennis Wayne and Dancers, New York; Israel Ballet; Jerusalem Tamar Modern Dance Company; Los Angeles Chamber Ballet; Los Angeles Classical Ballet; Radio City Music Hall Ballet; Dutch National Opera Ballet; Pandora and De Dutch Don’t Dance Division. In Hollywood she performed extensively in television shows, movies, and MTV videos. She has also performed in musical theatre. Her own choreographic works have been performed in 4 Steps Forward (Korzo Theatre, The Hague); Poetry International Festival (Stadsschouwberg, Rotterdam); The L.A. Dance Kaleidoscope Festival; Jerusalem Dance Theatre; Bethune Theatredans, and MTV, Korea .She has years of experience teaching classical ballet and jazz dance for children through professionals and as a guest teacher for DJazzEX; RAZ; Krisztina de Chatel; Theater Werkplaats Eskalibur; Stanley Holden Dance Center; Edge Performing Arts Center; Studio Piet Rogie/ Peter Bulckaen; Haagsche Dansetage; Amsterdam Dance Centre; Barrie Stevens, and Jerusalem Dance Theater to name a few. She currently teaches ballet, yoga, jazz and funky streetdance for children, teenagers and adults at her own school in The Hague “ Pallas Dance”. In 2010 Pallas embarked upon working as a freelance rehearsal director and has been invited to work with diverse dance companies including Massive Movement (formerly known as 2daPoint), Andy Ninvalle, artistic director www.2dapoint.nl; , OperaDans (aka Alchemy Ensemble), Nicole Jordan, artistic director www.operadans.com; and Danstheater ClearFlow, www.danstheaterclearflow.nl . In 2011 Pallas resumed choreographing and performing (see 'news' page of this website for details and to view video). Pallas is interested in satsang and advaita with the beloved teacher Mooji, has studied hatha yoga and guitar, is married to a Dutchman, and is the proud mother of two boys.

same title by Emily Dickinson to a score from Beethoven. |
“A Fractured Fairy Tale”:
a 28 minute long tragic/comic,semi- autobiographic based trio
produced by the Korzo Theatre, The Hague, for “Four Steps
Forward”, an evening designed to feature the works of
four up and coming choreographers. |

Festival, Luckman Theatre, Cal State,L.A. to popular and critical

“Variations on Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini”:
a twelve minute ballet set for twelve women en pointe to the score

a solo which premiered with Terpsicorps, L.A., and was subsequently
invited to be performed for the Los Angeles Department of Cultural

“Par Azart”: Co-choreographed the dance
element of this multi media exposition.
Premiered in The Fodor Museum, Amsterdam, toured Holland, and was
filmed and broadcast for German Arts Television.
“Wild Child”: commissioned by the Bethune
Theatredans, Los Angeles. A comedic quintet set to the song of the
same title by Iggy Pop. This was performed in schools throughout L.A.
for teenagers and children.
“Playtime”: a trio commissioned by The
Jerusalem Dance Theatre using the quirky music of Flim and the Beebees.
